Meeting your dentist, from video call to chair
You are choosing a person, not a building. Here is how to meet them before you fly, and how to make sure they are the one who treats you.
Ask for a video call with the dentist who will treat you before you book. When you arrive, your first appointment should be with that dentist: they examine you, take a 3D scan and confirm the plan and price in writing before any treatment starts. Ask who will be in the room at each stage.
Before you book: the video call
Most Antalya clinics will give you a plan from photos or an X-ray. Before you pay a deposit, ask for a short video call with the dentist who will treat you. Fifteen minutes is enough to see whether you understand each other and whether they answer your questions themselves. Have our 12 questions to hand.
Notice whether the dentist explains things in plain words, tells you what they would not do, and is honest about what your X-ray can and cannot show.
Day one: the first appointment

Your first appointment in Antalya should be with your dentist. They examine you, take a 3D (CBCT) scan, and confirm or change the plan. Ask for the final plan and price in writing before any treatment starts, and ask what changed from the plan you were sent and why.
Who is in the room
For a big treatment, more than one person is normal: a surgeon, a dentist for the teeth, a dental nurse, sometimes a technician from the lab. Ask beforehand who does what, and on which day. If a different dentist does a stage, you should be told in advance, not on the day.
- Implant surgery: who places the implants?
- Temporary teeth: who fits them, and who adjusts your bite?
- Final teeth: who designs them and checks the fit on your second trip?
- Problems: who do you contact, by name, if something hurts at the hotel?
After you go home
Ask for your records: the scan, X-rays, the implant brand and sizes, and the lab. Ask how your dentist will follow you up from the UK, by photos or video, and how often. A dentist who wants to see how you are doing is a good sign.
Common questions
Can I choose which dentist treats me?
Usually, yes, if you ask before you book. Put the name in writing in your treatment plan.
What if a different dentist turns up?
Ask why, and who they are. You can decline treatment until you are happy. A good clinic tells you in advance if a different dentist will do a stage.
