Guarantees and records

A guarantee is only as useful as its small print, and your records are what a UK dentist will need. Get both before you fly home.

Short answer

Ask for the guarantee in writing before you book, treatment by treatment, and read the conditions: check-ups, who pays for flights, and what counts as wear. Before you leave, take your records: X-rays and scans, the implant brand and sizes, the teeth treated and the materials. Precious Dental gives every implant patient an implant passport and copies of their scans.

Why the guarantee is a dentist’s promise

A guarantee is the dentist saying how long they expect their work to last, and what they will do if it does not. A dentist who is confident in their planning, materials and lab can put that in writing, treatment by treatment. Ask for it before you book, not after.

What to read in the small print

  • The period for each treatment. Implants, crowns and veneers are usually different.
  • The conditions. Many guarantees need regular check-ups, good cleaning and no smoking.
  • What is covered. The implant, the crown on top, or both? A chip, or only a failure?
  • Where the work is done. Usually at the clinic, which means another trip.
  • Who pays for travel. Flights and hotel for a repair can cost more than the repair.

The records to take home

Your records belong to you. Before your last appointment, ask for:

  • Your scans and X-rays, before and after treatment, as files you can give a UK dentist.
  • The implant details: brand, system, diameter, length and position of each implant. This is often called an implant passport.
  • A list of the work done: which teeth, what treatment, what materials, and the shade of the teeth.
  • The lab that made your crowns or bridge, in case a repair is needed.
  • Your dentist’s name and contact for follow-up.

At Precious Dental, every implant patient gets an implant passport and copies of their X-rays and scans.

Keep them safe

Save the files in two places, and give a copy to your UK dentist at your first check-up. If you ever need a repair, the first question any dentist will ask is: what is in there? Read UK follow-up support.

Common questions

What guarantee does Precious Dental give?

Implants with abutment: lifetime. Crowns, bridges and smile makeovers: 5 years. Laminate veneers: 3 years. Whitening: 1 year. The full terms are on dentprecious.com/guarantee.

Do I have to fly back to use a guarantee?

Usually, yes, for repairs or replacements done by the clinic. Ask who pays for flights and hotel, and whether a UK dentist can do minor repairs.

What is an implant passport?

A record of each implant placed: the brand, the type, the size and the position. A UK dentist needs it to find matching parts.

Can I get my X-rays and scans?

Yes. Ask for copies on a USB stick or by download before you leave. They are your records.
